Tysons Corner Facts

Here in NoVa land Tysons Corner is a major employment center.  The silver line will bring four metro stops to the area and will probably transform the landscape.  Here are some facts about the area

Tysons Corner is 1700 acres has 17000 residents and over 110000 workers.

The shopping mall complex is the 10th largest in the nation and has 24 million shoppers every year

Currently Tysons has 46 million square feet of development that generates over 300 million a year in local tax revenue.  Current zoning allows for up to 59 million square feet and with metro bonus development guidelines development could increase to 110 million square feet.

The Tysons corner planning task force is studying different growth scenarios for Tysons Corner.  These scenarios including doing nothing (base), residential growth focus, business growth focus, and maximum growth focus. 

The task force is focused on community development, trip reduction, affordable housing, and improving pedestrian access.
