Its primary season

The race for the 33rd senate district hasn’t gotten much press.  The two candidates running in the republican primary are Patricia Phillips and John Andrews

Voting will occur this Saturday May 19th from 9-2.  Republican Fairfax voters will vote at Carson Middle School in Herndon.  Loudoun voters will vote at Stonebrook High School in Ashburn.

The winner of this “primary” will face the democratic incumbant in November

As far as endorsements are concerned the only thing I will note is how soundly Mick Staton was defeated.  A similar candidate and strategy would probably not be the best idea looking forward to November.

Also, this weekend Republicans will decide their candidate for Chichesters senate seat. Virginia Virtucon has some good coverage of all the candidates including video from the debate last night.  The democrats have a popular local candidate waiting, so selections should once again be made with an eye towards November.

In June, things will really start to heat up with multiple competitive Republican candidate selections in Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties..

One Response to “Its primary season”

  1. John Andrews will surely win the day. Phillips is just another Dick Black student. Her negative style and lack of experience will not be attractive to voters.
